Summary: The Warehouse Delivery Driver will accurately pull orders using a scanner, deliver orders throughout central NY using a company van while performing daily vehicle checks. Must communicate with dispatch, sales staff, and clients during deliveries. You’ll be driving a single-unit vehicle with a gross vehicle weight under 26,001 pounds and towing capacity of no more than more than 10,000 pounds. Requires a Class D Driver’s License.

Essential duties of Position:

  • Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
  • Maneuver vehicles into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
  • Perform the end-of-day loading and fueling procedures on a daily basis.
  • Comply with the Superior Family of Companies’ safety & health policies and procedures.
  • Follow safe work practices.
  • Recognize health & safety hazards and use appropriate safeguards.
  • Wear appropriate clothing & personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report all incidents, injuries, illnesses, near misses and unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Participate in process improvements, investigations and corrective actions.
  • Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three years verifiable related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Pass required drug test and physical capabilities test (if applicable).
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License – Class D
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
