Lead the setup and operation of assigned production lines while supporting the production team to ensure products are made safely, efficiently, and according to quality and customer requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and direct the daily operation of assigned production lines and equipment.
- Read production work orders and ensure the correct machine settings and processes are used.
- Verify production line setup and ensure products meet quality specifications.
- Make sure employees have the proper work instructions, procedures, and documentation needed to perform their jobs.
- Monitor production processes and make adjustments as needed.
- Perform and oversee routine equipment maintenance and ensure maintenance activities are documented.
- Ensure all employees follow safety rules and procedures and report safety concerns to the Shift Manager.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Address employee concerns and refer disciplinary or performance issues to the Shift Manager.
- Monitor and maintain accurate control of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products.
- Support and guide production employees to keep the line running efficiently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Manufacturing or production experience preferred; leadership or team-lead experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand work orders, safety procedures, operating instructions, and production documents.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Basic to intermediate math skills, including percentages, fractions, and measurements.
- Ability to read and understand production charts and quality information.
- Basic computer skills and ability to enter production information.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to work well with others and provide direction to a production team.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, and lifting.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Work environment may include moderate to excessive noise, heat, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, and moving equipment.
- Must be able to work safely around production machinery.
