Role Summary/Purpose:

The Project Coordinator role provides high-level administrative and operational support to the Human Resources function, partnering closely with HR leaders and key stakeholders to ensure efficient day-to-day execution. This role requires strong judgment, discretion, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while handling sensitive and confidential information.

Essential Responsibilities:

  •  Provide complex calendar management for HR leaders, including scheduling across time zones, prioritizing meetings, resolving conflicts, and preparing agendas.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and process expenses in accordance with company policies.
  • Support HR rhythms of business (e.g., staff meetings, town halls, leadership meetings, planning sessions), including logistics, materials, and follow-ups.
  • Prepare and format presentations, communications, reports, and meeting materials with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Maintain and organize HR team documents, trackers, distribution lists, and shared resources; ensure version control and appropriate access.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal partners; triage requests, route inquiries appropriately, and ensure timely responses.
  • Support onboarding/offboarding logistics for HR team members (equipment requests, meeting coordination, access setup coordination, welcome communications).
  • Assist with event planning for HR initiatives (training sessions, engagement events, recognition moments), including vendor coordination and space/AV booking.
  • Track action items and deadlines from meetings; follow up to drive closure and maintain momentum on key deliverables.
  • Handle highly confidential information (employee data, organizational changes, talent discussions) with discretion and professionalism.
  • Provide backup/coverage for CHRO Executive Assistant.
  • Order office supplies and maintain inventory and stocking of Corporate Store
  • Identify opportunities to streamline administrative processes and improve team efficiency; propose and implement solutions.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

                                                                                             

Qualifications/Requirements:                                                                                 

  • 5+ years of administrative experience, including support for senior leaders; HR experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, anticipate needs, and work independently with minimal direction.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and a polished, professional presence.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and sound judgment.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience supporting SVP-level and above leaders.

  • Familiarity with HR processes and systems (e.g., Workday, ServiceNow, ticketing/HR case tools).

  • Experience coordinating large meetings/events and executive visits.

  • Project coordination experience (tracking deliverables, timelines, and stakeholders).

  • Executive-level organization and attention to detail.
  • Discretion and integrity.
  • Strong stakeholder management and customer service mindset.
  • Proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic environment.
  • Up to 30 hours per week.
  • Schedule based on business needs, occasional flexibility required for early/late meetings or events.

Our Way of Working:

We’re proud to offer you flexibility. At Synchrony, our way of working allows you to have the option to work from home near one of our Hubs or come into one of our offices. You will be required to commute to your nearest Hub (either virtual or physical) for in-person engagement activities such as regular business or team meetings, training and culture events.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
