Card Press OperatorÂ
The Card Press Operator reports to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for setting up, operating, and optimizing a Card Press production line. This role combines hands-on machine operation with ownership of line performance, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor card press production equipment and processes
- Lead and execute efficient line changeovers (SMED principles)
- Troubleshoot equipment, materials, and process issues to minimize downtime
- Inspect products and materials to ensure quality standards are met
- Operate continuous web converting and multi-color printing equipment
- Select and install components such as print cylinders, plates, and dies
- Maintain accurate production data and daily reporting
- Ensure adherence to production schedules and output targets
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment (5S)
- Follow all safety protocols and report unsafe conditions
- Support operational programs including ISO, GMP, Preventive Maintenance, and Sustainability initiatives
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to operate complex machinery with multiple material inputs and process stations
- Experience with unwind/rewind systems and web handling equipment
- Strong ability to read job tickets, schedules, and work instructions
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and defect detection
- Ability to distinguish color variations, tones, and brightness
- Strong coordination and reaction time for machine adjustments and troubleshooting
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Team-oriented with a positive, cooperative attitude
- Physically capable of handling materials and performing repetitive tasks
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience operating complex manufacturing equipmentÂ
- OR enrollment in/completion of a 2-year Engineering Technology program
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with multi-color, UV, continuous web flexographic printing equipment
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing environment with elevated noise levels (hearing protection required)
- Exposure to industrial chemicals
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and material handling
Lifting Requirements:
- Up to 50 lbs independently (team lift required above 50 lbs)
- Repetitive lifting: 25–35 lbs
- Move material rolls (400–1,000 lbs) via rolling
- Move skids up to 2,500 lbs using powered equipment
PPE Required: Safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and other equipment as needed

Base Compensation: $19.50 to $21.50
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as location, education, experience, and skillset.
