About the role:

This position serves faculty of the department in the area of class management. This will be specific to your designated professor and class. The job may entail, but is not limited to the areas of grading, managing Moodle, attending and assisting during lab sessions, being a practical exam subject, prepping lab rooms prior to sessions, meeting with students 1:1 or in small groups to address learning concerns and explanation of concepts, and classroom management (proctoring or attending class sessions as needed).

This position requires that you have successfully completed the class in which you will be assisting. Discussion with supervision faculty members will be required before approval of application.

Work Environment

Teaching assistants may work from home as the job allows. Some attendance to class or lab settings may be required. This position requires access to a computer and internet to be able to utilize the university’s learning management system (Moodle).


Physical Demands

There are minimal physical demands. If attending class or lab settings you may be required to stand for long periods of time (100 minutes at a time) or lift lab equipment/tables.


Expected Hours of Work

You are able to work at your own pace and time, unless requested to be in class or lab. The position usually requires 1-5 hours a week.
