Hornig Companies seeks highly skilled, full-time Maintenance Technicians to respond to work orders, prepare units for new move-ins, and perform preventive maintenance throughout our portfolio of unique Minneapolis and St. Paul brownstone and mid-century communities. We place a high value on quality repairs, craftsmanship, and thoughtful updates that honor and preserve the historical integrity of our properties. Â The pay range for this role is $28 - $40+ per hour. Â To maintain internal equity and room for upward mobility, the upper limit is reserved for senior specialists who bring immediate mastery to the role.

What would my responsibilities include?
Diagnose, trouble-shoot, and repair apartment maintenance issues like:
- Plumbing issues such as leaking faucets, toilets, and other fixtures
- Repair or replace blinds, closet doors
- Low-risk electrical repair or replacement of lighting, ceiling fans, smoke detectors
- Minor sheetrock repair and repair of building construction such as broken windows and locks
- Minor caulking of tubs and sinks
- Minor appliance repair
 Provide expertise on building repair, concentrating on preventing future maintenance concerns in historical and aging buildings
Communicate with residents regarding repairs in a caring, compassionate manner that upholds Hornig Companies' customer service reputation as well as Fair Housing guidelines

What should I bring to the team?
- Mechanical, plumbing and light electrical aptitude
- Specials Boiler’s License, or the ability to obtain within 6 months
- Ability and willingness to learn
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
- Valid Driver’s License and meet car insurance requirements
- Ability to work rotating on-call schedule
- Ability to operate applicable phone applications for work orders, time allocation, and information look-up
- Ability to stand, lift and bend for up to 8 hours (with breaks) in hot/cold and wet environments
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- 8+ years maintenance experience required; Multi-housing experience preferred
