Service Technician

Do you enjoy working with your hands, solving problems, and figuring out how things work? BENCO Equipment is looking for a Service Technician to join our team and play an important role in keeping our customers’ shops running safely and efficiently.
As a Service Technician, you’ll travel to customer locations to install, diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide variety of automotive and shop equipment. No two days are exactly the same, and you’ll have the opportunity to work with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems while building strong relationships with our customers.

What You'll Do
- Install, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of shop equipment, including:
- 2- and 4-post vehicle hoists
- Tire changers and wheel balancers
- Industrial air compressors
- Pressure washers
- Waste oil heaters
- Air line and lube systems
- Exhaust systems
- Other automotive and commercial shop equipment
- Use logical troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques to identify the cause of equipment problems and determine the best solution.
- Test equipment, make adjustments, and verify proper operation after repairs.
- Inspect and operate equipment prior to delivery when possible to help ensure it is ready for the customer.
- Stay current on new equipment, technology, and service techniques through ongoing training and education.
- Accurately document and report completed service work in a timely manner.
- Work independently in the field while managing priorities and maintaining a high level of service.
- Represent BENCO Equipment professionally and provide a positive customer experience on every service call.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain safe working practices.
What We're Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is mechanically minded, dependable, and confident troubleshooting problems. You don't have to know everything on day one — a willingness to learn and develop your skills is important.
Minimum qualifications include:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience; an Associate Degree or technical school certificate is a plus.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new technology.
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment and components in the field.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to understand customer needs and work to exceed expectations.
- Comfortable working independently and managing work in the field without direct supervision.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced service environment.
- Commitment to following company safety requirements and maintaining safe working habits.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
