SUMMARY:

This position will support the Logistics network by developing and leading capital construction and facility improvement projects to achieve business, financial, and strategic objectives.

Other responsibilities include: working cross-functionally with construction, engineering, and operations teams; maintaining corporate design, engineering, and construction standards; develop facility improvement strategies and plans that meet or exceed established business objectives.

The expectations of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the design and execution of industrial construction projects, from concept through closeout
  • Responsible for development and management of schedules and budgets across project phases, including feasibility, design, construction, and commissioning
  • Responsible for coordinating civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering scope with architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Work cross-functionally with both internal and external stakeholders (contractors, vendors, local jurisdictions) to drive projects to completion
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (cost, schedule, scope, quality) that enable project success
  • Support the Operations organization through construction and startup to ensure that project goals are met or exceeded

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Civil, Structural, Electrical, Industrial) or another related field. Master’s degree in Engineering or Business desirable. PE desirable. PMP certification desirable.
  • Experience: 5+ years work experience in warehousing, transportation, or the food processing industry. Experience managing technical/engineering capital projects >$5M preferred. Complex/Complicated automation systems experience (ASRS, Robotics, AGVs) preferred
  • Computer Skills: Basic personal computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint. Familiarity with AutoCAD. Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems and SAP a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Supervisory: This position will report to the Senior Director of Engineering for Logistics Warehousing and Transportation. Must have ability to work autonomously given strategic vision, high level objectives and wide guardrails. Requires ability to function with high level direction and communicate throughout organization.
  • Travel: Extensive travel (30-50%+) may be required.
