Description
Position Summary.
The Electrical Service Manager will lead Anderson Air's new electrical division, building the department from the ground up. In the first phase of this role, the Manager will work hands-on in the field running service calls, establishing pricing and process, and proving out the offering while recruiting, hiring, and training the electricians who will report to them. As the team grows, the role transitions to full oversight of day-to-day electrical operations: scheduling, dispatch, code compliance, quality control, and P&L performance. This is a builder role for a leader who wants to shape a department and its culture, not simply manage an existing one.
Responsibilities.
Department Build-Out & Field Leadership
- Serve as the hands-on lead electrician during the department's launch phase, running service and repair calls while the technician team is being built.
- Recruit, hire, and onboard licensed electricians and apprentices as call volume grows.
- Establish SOPs for service calls, dispatching, pricing, and client follow-up for the new electrical line, in partnership with company leadership.
- Transition from primarily field-based work to full department oversight as the technician team is established.
Operations & Scheduling
- Manage daily scheduling, dispatching, and field support for service calls, emergency calls, and project-based work.
- Review incoming service requests, define scope, assign the appropriate technician, and ensure timely follow-up.
- Coordinate with HVAC and plumbing service managers to cross-sell services and ensure smooth ticket flow across departments.
- Oversee inventory management, truck stock, tool tracking, and vehicle policy compliance.
- Serve as a Service Titan admin for the electrical department.
Customer Service & Sales
- Provide over-the-phone and in-person quotes and estimates for residential service work, panel upgrades, EV chargers, generator installs, and troubleshooting.
- Coach electricians on building customer rapport and recommending the right repairs, upgrades, and maintenance agreements.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a high standard of satisfaction and retention.
- Maintain strong relationships with homeowners, property managers, and general contractors.
Quality, Safety & Code Compliance
- Ensure all electrical work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), Arkansas licensing requirements, local codes, and company safety standards.
- Conduct field visits, jobsite quality checks, and safety observations.
- Review completed work orders for accurate labor, material, and billing information.
- Maintain the department's Master Electrician license and ensure all required permits and inspections are secured.
Financial Management
- Own the electrical department's P&L, including labor costs, material costs, and departmental budgeting.
- Track job costing and KPIs such as labor efficiency, gross margin, callbacks, backlog, and average ticket size.
- Prepare and review estimates, proposals, and change orders to ensure profitability and margin goals are met.
- Order and coordinate materials, equipment, rentals, and subcontracted work as needed.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, train, and hold accountable a team of electricians using proven coaching methods.
- Host regular team meetings to review the service pipeline, address challenges, and reinforce safety compliance.
- Conduct performance reviews and ongoing coaching to develop technical and customer service skills.
- Build a team culture consistent with Anderson Air's standards for craftsmanship, accountability, and customer care.
Qualifications.
Required
- 5+ years of residential electrical experience, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory, foreman, or service-management role.
- Active Master Electrician license in the state of Arkansas (required).
- Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), residential wiring, troubleshooting, service panels, and modern residential technology (EV chargers, smart panels, generators).
- Proven ability to lead a team, manage multiple jobs simultaneously, and hold technicians accountable.
- Experience preparing estimates and managing labor, material, and job-cost information.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Experience building or launching a new service line or department.
- Familiarity with ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, or comparable field service management software.
- Background in sales coaching or driving revenue growth within a service team.
- Experience with budgeting, job costing, and KPI-driven performance tracking.
Work Environment.
This role is field-based during the department's launch phase, with the Manager performing electrical service calls directly. As the technician team is built out, the role shifts toward a hybrid mix of field oversight and office-based scheduling, budgeting, and reporting. Some evening and weekend availability may be required to support urgent service calls and team needs.
Compensation & Benefits.
This is a salaried position with a performance-based bonus structure. Anderson Air offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Company paid short term disability and life insurance
- Paid time off / holidays
- 401(k), with 4% company match
