The Maintenance Tech II is responsible for performing, with minimal guidance, audits, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of automated material handling system components within the Fulfillment Center. The Maintenance Tech II represents and follows the outlined company guidelines for general work practices and performs assigned duties in accordance with proper safe work practices. The Maintenance Tech II takes initiative to coordinate maintenance activities to ensure the safe and satisfactory completion of all tasks. The Maintenance Tech II will assist the Maintenance Tech III with the product flow and operational goals to effectively support the Fulfillment Operations.Ā 

RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Assists other technicians and/or mechanics in the repair and maintenance of equipment, and diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings and diagnostic tools.Ā Ā 
  • Responsible for performing, independently or with minimal guidance, audits, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of automated material handling system components within the Fulfillment Center.Ā Ā 
  • Must have experience with 3 phase systems up to 480VAC, including repair, installation and maintenance.Ā Ā 
  • Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment according to safety and quality procedures.Ā Ā 
  • Provides resolutions to mechanical, technical/controls issues.Ā Ā 
  • Troubleshoots and repairs key components for the Fulfillment Center. Participates in cleaning the conveyor systems and maintenance area as appropriateĀ Ā 
  • Completes work orders, other written or computer‐based documents according to established procedures.Ā Ā 
  • Working at heights of 40ft or more will be required.Ā Ā 
  • Assists with maintaining inventory of company-supplied tools.Ā Ā 
  • Must be willing and able to be certified on powered industrial equipment.Ā Ā 
  • Performs general facility maintenance such as light bulb replacement, office furniture relocation, plumbing, electrical repairs, etc.Ā Ā 
  • Other duties as instructed by supervision/management.Ā 

QUALIFICATIONS:Ā 

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will also consider experience and/or military service.Ā 
  • 3‐5 years of related experience in mechanical troubleshooting, technical troubleshooting, maintenance and/or installation is required.Ā 
  • Adept at analyzing and resolving mechanical and technical issues.Ā 
  • Excellent hand and eye coordination skills. Ability to read, recognize, write, and follow applicable numbers and directives (verbal and written) in English.Ā 
  • Command of basic math skills to ensure accurate inventory.Ā 
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends as necessary. Command of safety procedures (including lock‐out/tag‐out)Ā Ā 
  • Frequent bending, lifting, walking, pushing, pulling of freight, and standing for long periods of time.Ā 
  • Sometimes working in extreme temperaturesĀ 
  • Safely utilize manual and electronically operated equipment to transport cartons or other items by means of pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying.Ā Ā 
  • Strong electrical background, knowledge of low voltage controls, and PLC.Ā Ā 
  • Required prior experience and/or working knowledge of a conveyor and/or sortation.Ā Ā 
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting.Ā 
  • Solid electrical troubleshooting, solid controls troubleshootingĀ 
  • Preventive/predictive maintenance, modification, and upgrade support Installation.Ā 

Preferred Qualifications:Ā 

  • Certificate(s)/License(s) in related fields such as Journeymen or Master Electrician, CMRP and/or CMRT, etc.Ā 
  • CMMS experience.Ā 
  • Preferred prior experience and/or working Knowledge of Allen Bradley and/or Siemens productsĀ 
  • Network troubleshooting a plus.Ā 
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).Ā 
  • Experience working with and managing outside vendors, customers, and business partnersĀ 
  • Prior working knowledge of current building vendors, software, platforms, and systems desiredĀ 
  • Previous industry-based experience.Ā 
  • Must possess visual acuity to read fine print as needed.Ā 
  • Must be able to hear and understand verbal instructions.Ā 
  • Must possess the capability to walk or stand for extended periods of time.Ā 
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.Ā 
  • Must be able to push or pull carts of up to 200 pounds.Ā 
  • Must be able to climb stairs.Ā 
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and grasp products.Ā
