Position Summary
Sentry is seeking an experienced Journeyman Plumber to install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems on commercial and residential projects. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to complete quality work safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Install water, sanitary waste, vent, storm drainage, and gas piping systems.
- Install plumbing fixtures, water heaters, pumps, valves, and related equipment.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and plumbing codes.
- Lay out piping systems and determine required materials.
- Cut, thread, solder, braze, press, and join various piping materials.
- Test piping systems and troubleshoot leaks or equipment problems.
- Coordinate work with project managers, supervisors, other trades, and customers.
- Direct and train apprentices when assigned.
- Maintain accurate daily records, material lists, and time entries.
- Follow company safety policies and applicable OSHA requirements.
- Keep company vehicles, tools, and work areas clean and organized.
- Perform other plumbing and construction-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current South Dakota Journeyman Plumber license or ability to obtain one.
- Previous commercial or residential plumbing experience.
- Thorough understanding of plumbing systems, materials, and installation methods.
- Ability to read blueprints and perform plumbing layout.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems in the field.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Reliable attendance and professional communication.
- Ability to pass applicable pre-employment screening.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Work from ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and in confined spaces.
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, and plumbing equipment.

Schedule
Full-time position. Typical working hours are Monday through Friday, with overtime or travel required depending on project needs.
