Job DetailsLevel: EntryJob Location: Shreveport, LA 71107PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Interprets procedures, specifications, and drawings to determine if product meets standards. 2. Uses calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, thickness gauges, surf testers, radius gauges, and height gauges to determine if product meets standards. 3. Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. 4. Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to QC Lead or production supervisor. 5. Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work. 6. Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database to create required documentation. 7. Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs. 8. Notify QC Lead or quality management of trending nonconformances / rework issues.   ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES 9. Provide on the job training to new employees as needed. 10. Follow all safety and health policies and procedures issued by the company. 11. Other duties as assigned. 12. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS 1. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. 2. Ability to utilize and read quality inspection equipment accurately. 3. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers. 4. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required. 5. Forklift certification preferred. WORKING CONDITIONS Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds. Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel toed work boots, and gloves. PPE REQUIRED Safety glasses, ear protection, steel toed boots, and gloves. Use of grinder/cutting torch equipment requires face shield or goggles. FALL PROTECTION ASSESSMENT N/A Qualifications
