Skilled Laborers

Location: Shelbyville, KY
Project Duration: 10 weeks / 2.5 months
Pay Rate: $25/hour
Schedule: 40 Hours per Week

Skillforce is currently hiring Skilled Laborers for a shop job in Shelbyville, KY. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a shop, construction, manufacturing, or industrial environment and be comfortable performing a variety of hands-on labor tasks. Candidates should have a strong work ethic, good attention to detail, and a commitment to working safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with general labor and material handling throughout the shop and work areas
• Load, unload, move, and stage materials and equipment
• Assist skilled tradesmen and shop personnel with daily production and fabrication tasks
• Use basic hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Measure, cut, move, and organize materials as directed
• Assist with the preparation and assembly of materials and components
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Follow directions from supervisors and skilled tradesmen
• Follow all company and job-site safety procedures
• Safely handle and move heavy materials as needed
• Assist with cleanup, organization, and other general shop duties
• Work effectively with team members to meet production schedules and project deadlines

Requirements

• Previous experience in a shop, construction, manufacturing, or industrial environment preferred
• Comfortable performing physical labor and working with heavy materials
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools
• Ability to follow directions and safety procedures
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work overtime as needed and maintain reliable attendance
• Must pass all pre-employment screenings, including drug testing and background check
• Reliable transportation
• Strong work ethic and commitment to workplace safety
