The Job
We are looking for technology-driven and detail-oriented engineer to join our growing organization. This person will join our team of inside sales specialists and application engineers.
This position is a presales application engineering role focused on industrial flow and level measurement solutions. It is not a field service or project execution position.
The engineer will work with a broad range of flow and level instrumentation products, including electromagnetic (mag) flow meters, ultrasonic flow meters, Coriolis mass flow meters, thermal and variable area flow meters, flow switches, radar level transmitters, ultrasonic level transmitters, guided wave radar, point level switches, and related monitoring and control technologies. These products are used throughout industrial, municipal, OEM, and process manufacturing applications to measure, monitor, and control liquids, gases, slurries, and bulk solids.
The Application Engineer serves as a technical resource to support sales functions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Providing application assessment, solution recommendations, quotations, and supporting technical documentation
· Developing quotes and proposals for large and complex projects (this represents the majority of the role’s time and focus)
· Supporting customers by answering technical questions and providing engineering specifications and submittals
· Evaluating customer requirements and recommending appropriate flow and level measurement technologies based on process conditions, performance requirements, and installation considerations
· Creating proof-of-concepts and integrated solution concepts when needed
· Collaborating with sales teams, manufacturers, and internal stakeholders to ensure technical and commercial alignment
· Taking ownership of product information within Branom’s internal systems and external eCommerce platform
· Staying current on product lines, system architectures, and manufacturer training
· Performing other related duties as assigned on an as-needed basis
Qualifications and Competencies
The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills, and capabilities to perform the essential duties of the role:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience (typically five or more years)
· Background in industrial instrumentation, process measurement, fluid handling, or process control systems is strongly preferred
· Ability to understand and evaluate process applications involving flow measurement, level measurement, pumping systems, tanks, pipelines, and process equipment
· Experience providing presales technical support or applications engineering support
· Strong computer literacy with the ability to spend most of the workday on a computer
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel or Google Sheets; ability to learn new systems is required
· High attention to detail with a focus on quality, accuracy, and meeting deadlines
· Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
· Well organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Work Environment
This role is largely desk and computer-based, with extended periods of sitting and independent work. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
The position may be hybrid, working from a Branom office and a home office, or fully remote.
Regular travel up to 20% for customer meetings, presentations, and training.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range is $90,000–$120,000 base plus bonus, depending on experience and skill set.
