As a valued intern on our Excess Casualty team, you will be given real meaningful work as well as support and guidance from our employees and leadership as you continue to develop your skills, gain industry knowledge, and build a strong foundation for your future career.Ā

Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:Ā 

  • As a valued intern on our Excess Casualty team, you will gain experience with and exposure to tasks such as:Ā Ā Ā 

  • Correspondence with brokers, vendors, underwriting team membersĀ 

  • Preparation of accounts for modelingĀ Ā 

  • Drafting quotes and bindersĀ Ā 

  • Post-binding account changes/ transactionsĀ Ā 

  • Policy issuance including correspondence to drafting team and broker to ensure policy is issued per binderĀ 

  • Endorsement processing and issuanceĀ Ā 

  • Accurate and timely status of accounts within systems throughout the underwriting life cycleĀ Ā 

  • Operation of internal controls and timely closure of Internal AuditĀ 

  • Other Duties as AssignedĀ 

Ā 

Technical Knowledge and Understanding:Ā 

  • Proactive and driven to learn.Ā Ā 

  • Excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office SuiteĀ Ā 

  • Highly organized with attention to detailĀ Ā 

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skillsĀ Ā 

  • Open to travel to multiple Core Specialty office locations to get a broad view of the company and teamĀ 

  • Able to work easily with cross-functional teams

Ā 

Experience:Ā 

  • Must be actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in risk management/insurance, Finance or BusinessĀ Ā 

  • Able to work 40 hours per week for 12 weeks
