Regional West Health Services is seeking a passionate and innovative Staff Development Coordinator for employee education, training, and professional development initiatives across our organization. In this role, you'll partner with HR leaders to develop learning programs, coordinate competency initiatives, and foster a culture of continuous learning that supports employee growth, organizational success, and exceptional patient care.

A Day in the Life

No two days are exactly the same in this dynamic role.

Your day may begin by reviewing competency reports, planning educational programs, or coordinating employee orientation. Throughout the day, you'll collaborate with HR leaders to identify learning opportunities, facilitate training sessions, support certification and continuing education efforts, and ensure required training remains current and compliant.

You may also develop educational materials and evaluate program effectiveness. At the end of the day, you'll know your work is helping employees grow professionally while strengthening the organization and the care we provide.

What You'll Do

Education & Training

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver employee education and training programs.
  • Assess organizational learning needs and implement effective training solutions.
  • Design and evaluate educational programs that promote employee growth and performance.
  • Coordinate annual competency validation and mandatory training programs.
  • Facilitate classroom, virtual, and hands-on learning experiences.
  • Maintain educational resources, training records, and learning materials.
  • Serve as a resource for HR leaders and employees on learning and development initiatives.
  • Promote evidence-based practice, lifelong learning, and workforce development. 

Leadership Development & Succession Planning

  • Design in collaboration with the HR Leadership development programs for current and emerging leaders.
  • Facilitate Leadership development programs for current and emerging leaders.
  • Partner with Director of HR Operations and organization leaders to identify high-potential employees and support talent development initiatives and succession planning efforts.
  • Develop educational resources and training programs focused on leadership competencies, communication, performance management, employee engagement, and workforce effectiveness.
  • Support leadership onboarding and transition programs for new managers and supervisors.
  • Collaborate with HR Leadership and organization leaders to establish development plans that align employee growth with organizational needs.

Compliance & Performance Improvement

  • Ensure educational programs support regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Track training completion and maintain required documentation.
  • Collaborate with HR leaders to ensure competency requirements are met. 
  • Support quality improvement initiatives through education and training.
  • Measure program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor educational metrics and outcomes.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Education, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field required. 
  • Master's degree preferred.

Licensure

  • Valid Driver's License required. 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of hire due to course instruction responsibilities. 
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license preferred for clinical education roles.

Preferred

  • Degree in Education, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Experience in education, training, healthcare, curriculum development, project coordination, or workforce development. 
  • Experience with learning management systems and adult learning principles.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of healthcare experience required. 
  • Experience in staff education, employee development, clinical training, leadership development, workforce planning, talent development, or organizational development preferred. 
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), competency management programs, learning analytics, and educational technology platforms preferred. 
  • Experience with healthcare accreditation, competency management, and regulatory compliance preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and facilitate training for extended periods. 
  • Ability to lift and carry training materials and equipment up to 25 pounds. 
  • Ability to utilize computers, presentation technology, and audiovisual equipment. 
  • Work primarily in hospital, classroom, and office environments. 
  • Exposure to healthcare settings and potential infectious diseases. 
  • May require flexible scheduling to support educational needs across multiple shifts.
