Job Summary
MacLean-Fogg is hiring a Tapping Deflection Operator - 2nd Shift at our Savanna, Illinois manufacturing facility. In this role, you will operate assigned mechanical equipment, verify product quality, complete inspections, and make basic equipment adjustments to support safe, efficient production. You will train on 1st shift for up to six months before transitioning to the regular 2nd-shift schedule.

Work Arrangement: On-site
Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM-11:30 PM; training on 1st shift for up to 6 months, 6:30 AM-3:00 PM
Pay: $16.00-$19.00/hour, depending on experience
Other Compensation: $2 shift differential
Employment Type: Full-time / Hourly
Overtime: Overtime may be required based on business needs.
What You'll Do as a Tapping Deflection Operator
Operate assigned mechanical equipment safely and efficiently.
Verify that produced items meet quality-control requirements and product specifications.
Use basic measuring instruments to check product dimensions and quality.
Perform first-piece inspections as needed.
Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and make necessary adjustments.
Read and interpret work instructions and blueprints when applicable.
Complete required production and quality documentation fully and accurately.
Follow all applicable safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience.
Solid experience with the setup and operation of machinery, including applying that knowledge to complex tasks.
Machine-operation and precision-measurement skills.
Ability to interpret work instructions and follow written and verbal directions.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints when applicable.
Basic mathematical skills and the ability to complete documentation accurately.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role involves repeatedly lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, pushing and pulling objects up to 50 pounds, and frequent bending and stooping. The position also requires the dexterity to handle small objects and the ability to work in a noisy manufacturing environment.
