JOB CATEGORY: MANAGEMENT / ADMINISTRATION / MAINTENANCE 

POSITION SUMMARY: The General Services Supervisor directs the maintenance and custodial program for Central Office in Santa Fe and the PMS Engagement Center in Albuquerque.  Maintains all facilities, grounds and equipment in a sanitary, functional, attractive and orderly condition.  Manages and oversees small renovations, repairs and maintenance projects throughout New Mexico as assigned by the General Services Department Manager. This position also supervises assigned maintenance and custodial staff and assists with the oversight of third-party contractors.

LIMITATIONS OF AUTHORITY: The General Services Supervisor confers with the Administrator or General Services Department Manager before initiating expenditures of more than $500 cost. In the absence of the Administrator / Region Director or General Services Department Manager, the General Services Supervisor may initiate emergency repairs not to exceed $1,000.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six years’ directly related education and/or experience in general maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and/or painting.

  • Supervisory experience preferred.

 

Broad knowledge of construction, repair, maintenance and service procedures, practices, problems and compliance, including procurement, cost-benefit analysis and cost control, also landscaping and mechanical systems preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

The following licenses/certifications are preferred: mechanical (HVAC), plumbing, or electrical.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
  • Must provide a current motor vehicle record.
  • Must submit to a motor vehicle record check on an as needed basis and must maintain a satisfactory driving record that is within the limitations of PMS Human Resources Policy II.D.3, Automobile Usage, and applicable state and federal laws.
  • Must comply with PMS Policies on Automobile Usage, II.D.3, Drug Free Workplace, III.H and applicable state and federal laws.
  • May be required to complete transportation related trainings.

 

NOTE: Because this position is assigned a PMS vehicle, not required to provide current personal owner liability automobile insurance.
