Position Summary
The Precast Tank Builder is responsible for the production of precast septic tanks and related products. This position performs pouring and production activities, operates and maintains equipment, handles construction materials, maintains the vault shed and surrounding work areas, and follows all company safety policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Pour and manufacture precast septic tanks inside the vault shed according to established procedures and production requirements.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment prior to use.
- Follow instructions from the Plant Manager or designated supervisor regarding work assignments and required work areas.
- Lift, carry, move, and handle construction materials as required.
- Inspect the vault shed and surrounding work area daily and promptly report maintenance, equipment, or safety concerns to the Plant Manager.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and appearance of the vault shed and surrounding yard.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Immediately report any vehicle accidents, safety violations, job-related injuries, or other incidents to the Plant Manager, or Assistant Plant Manager if the Plant Manager is unavailable.
- Properly maintain and store tools, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area throughout the workday.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
Qualifications
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work safely around production equipment and construction materials.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to recognize and report unsafe conditions, equipment problems, and other workplace hazards.
- Previous experience in precast concrete, construction, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry construction materials and other items as required.
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks associated with precast concrete production.
- Ability to work safely around heavy equipment, tools, concrete, and other construction materials.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work Environment
This position is performed primarily outdoors and includes exposure to:
- Work is primarily performed in and around the vault shed and production yard.
- Employee may be exposed to concrete, dust, noise, outdoor weather conditions, heavy equipment, machinery, and other typical production and construction hazards.
- Employee is expected to follow all applicable safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirements at all times.
