Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Cost Accounting Assistant to support our Cost Accountant in managing day-to-day cost controlling, inventory tracking, and manufacturing data management. This role is perfect for someone looking to grow their career in corporate finance and supply chain accounting within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Entry & Verification: Assist in daily data entry for manufacturing orders, material movements, and labor hours. Verify the accuracy of production logs against ERP system records.
- Inventory Control Support: Help reconcile cycle count results and physical inventory audits. Track and investigate minor inventory discrepancies under the guidance of the Cost Accountant.
- Invoice & PO Matching: Perform three-way matching (Purchase order, Receiving Report, and Invoice) for manufacturing-related expenses and raw material purchases.
- Reporting Assistance: Assist in preparing weekly/monthly cost analysis reports, scrap logs, and variance spreadsheets using MS Excel.
- Administrative Support: Maintain organized digital archiving for cost records, Bill of Materials (BOM) updates, and audit documentation. Assist with internal and external audit preparations.
- Other responsibilities will be assigned as needed.
- Proficient in MS Excel – must be comfortable with VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and basic formulas.
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and effective at cross-functional collaboration. Able to work closely with Accounting, Warehouse, and Production teams to ensure efficient operations and accurate coordination.
- Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and high-pressure environment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or QuickBooks) is a plus.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred. Open to recent graduates with strong Excel skills.
- 0-2 years of experience in an administrative, clerical, or Accounts Payable (AP) role, ideally within a manufacturing, logistics, or distribution environment.
