Job Summary

Gathering, analyzing, and interpreting a wide variety of research data. Designs and conducts research including selecting data samples, developing research instruments, analyzing collected information according to established statistical methods, and developing recommendations based on research findings. Prepares reports, charts, tables, and other visual aids to interpret and communicate data and results.

Department Overview

The UC Human Factors & Ergonomics Program is a joint program of the Division of Occupational, Environmental and Climate Medicine in the Department of Medicine at UC San Francisco and the Division of Environmental Health Sciences in the School of Public Health at UC Berkeley.

The lab’s primary location is the Richmond Field Station in the East Bay. We are part of the Northern California Center of Occupational and Environmental Health and have a team of approximately 20 students and staff at any given time. Our program prepares students from engineering, public health, and medicine in human factors and ergonomics, with a focus on understanding the relationship between biomechanical exposures and injuries and on reducing injuries through prevention-through-design strategies.
