Position Overview  

The mission of the Multicultural Fellowship Program is to equip emerging leaders with the experience, knowledge, and network to create an equitable Bay Area. The People Pathway leads the Foundation’s efforts to ensure that Bay Area residents can make a good living and build long-term financial well-being for their families and communities. Its funding priorities are: 

  • Reimagine public safety by advancing equitable, care-centered, and community-controlled approaches to safety, crisis response, and community well-being. 
  • Eliminate punitive fines and fees that criminalize poverty and disproportionately burden low-income communities and communities of color. 
  • Build worker power by supporting organizing and collective action that protect worker rights, expand economic opportunity, and create political power. 
  • Establish public banks that steward public resources for the public interest and reinvest wealth into affordable housing, community infrastructure, and long-term economic resilience. 

A successful Fellowship candidate for the People Pathway will have significant understanding of and experience related to at least one of the above-listed priorities.  

Key Responsibilities  

  • Conduct outreach, evaluate grant proposals, perform due diligence, and develop grant recommendations for Rapid Response Fund for Movement Building 
  • Provide administrative support including scheduling, meeting coordination, agenda development, and documentation  

Authority & Reporting  

The role sits within the Community Impact department.  

  • Reports to: People Pathway Senior Director 
  • Partners most closely with: People Pathway Team  

Qualifications & Competencies  

  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience  
  • Strong writing and editing skills  
  • Experience conducting research and synthesizing information into actionable insights   
  • Strong organizational, project management, and administrative coordination skills   
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder needs   
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills   
  • High attention to detail and quality control across work products   
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments across diverse groups  

Technical abilities and skills   

  • Intermediate to advanced computer/software skills, including Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, & Teams) and Zoom. Familiarity and interest in A.I.  
  • Ability to learn, navigate and manage online platforms, including Fluxx, Qliksense, Smartsheet, and Salesforce.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Position Pay Rate Year 1 (non-exempt): $54.10/hr. 

Remote Work Policy  

This position follows a long-term hybrid work model. Dedicated to its employee health and safety, The Foundation will continue to make decisions in accordance with San Francisco County and California mandates. Employees must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area and work in the office a minimum of one day per week.  

Physical Requirements   

This role is primarily sedentary and performed in a hybrid or remote office environment. It requires prolonged computer use, virtual communication, and occasional light lifting (up to 10 lbs.).
