Role Overview:
Core Services Group is seeking an Advanced Tactical Training Naval Interface Control Officer to join our team in San Diego, CA. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your naval expertise in a dynamic, mission-critical environment where your skills directly support advanced tactical training operations. Key Responsibilities:
1.  Instruction & Mentorship (ANICO COI)
  • Support classroom instruction and provide over-the-shoulder mentorship to ANICO students.
  • Develop and refine training objectives; update curriculum; develop, deliver, and improve lectures.
  • Design and execute tactical training scenarios aligned to stated training objectives.
  • Support development and delivery of ANICO COI, Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI) COIs, and other SMWDC SAWS courses.
  • Assist with student assessment to determine fulfillment of course objectives.
2.  Advanced Warfare Training Support (Lab/Simulator/Classroom)
  • Contribute to, support, monitor, review, and evaluate advanced warfare training primarily in laboratory/simulator and classroom environments.
  • Support additional courses/events as required (e.g., WTI courses, IADC, FADO, AMW COI, SCC COI).
  • Support validation of tactical doctrine, lessons learned, and experimental tactics
  • Provide planning and administrative support to ANICO and WTI Course Leads/Assistant Course Leads, including:
    *  Notice drafting and routing
    *  Tactical scenario development
    *  Test plan development
    *  Brief development on course status/updates/changes
3.  Curriculum Development Across Surface Force Mission Areas
  • Develop, evaluate, and update curricula and training materials in compliance with SMWDC SAWS curriculum standards.
  • Support SMWDC-assigned surface force mission areas, including:
    *  Air and Missile Warfare (AMW)
    *  Surface Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW)
    *  Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD)
    *  Mine Warfare (MIW)
    *  Surface Warfare (SUW)
    *  Supporting areas: C4I/Maritime Targeting Network (MTN)
  • Incorporate warfare principles across disciplines to meet Navy Mission Essential Task List (NMETL) and Surface Force training objectives.
  • Align training to applicable doctrine and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), including key measures of effectiveness.
4.   Training Product Review & Quality Improvement
  • Evaluate existing training materials and procedures.
  • Recommend revisions to ensure technical accuracy, usability, adequate references/resources, and compliance with quality standards.
5.   Technical Writing & Graphics Support
  • Provide product graphics and technical writing support for style guides, lesson topic guides, specialized briefs, and operational/technical documentation.
  • Develop supporting documentation for SMWDC SAWS-owned and SAWS-delivered training events.
Required Qualifications:
  • Security: Possess a current SECRET clearance and be TS//SCI eligible.
  • Experience: Minimum 12 years of military experience and/or relevant industry/government experience with Surface Navy combat systems, C5I, networks, and weapons systems.
  • Planning Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Strike Group, Fleet, Major Training Command, Systems Testing Command, or similar military organization planning.
  • Platform/Warfare Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience aboard Navy cruisers or destroyers and/or within qualified DoD warfare areas.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Former qualified IAMD WTI or ASW/SUW WTI.
  • Qualified JICO.
Work Environment:
  • Formal schoolhouse/classroom setting with associated laboratory/simulator training environments.
  • Work involves curriculum maintenance, scenario execution, student assessment, and coordination with Course Leads.
