Position | Senior Graphic Designer | Division: | Strategic Engagement | Department: | Integrated Marketing and Communications | Reports to: | Sr. Associate Vice President for Strategic Engagement | Position Summary  | The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for creating high-quality visual communications that advance the mission, strategic priorities, and brand identity of Livingstone College. Reporting to the Senior Associate Vice President for Strategic Engagement, Integrated Marketing & Communications, the Graphic Designer develops creative solutions for print, digital, social media, advertising, recruitment, fundraising, institutional initiatives, events, and other College communications. The position serves as a key steward of the College's visual identity, ensuring that materials are creative, accurate, audience-focused, and consistent with approved brand standards. Website content support and maintenance may be assigned as a secondary responsibility as needed. | Essential Duties & Responsibilities  The results you will deliver each day that matter most! | Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGraphic Design and Creative Production: - Conceptualize, design, and produce professional print and digital communications, including brochures, flyers, posters, publications, advertisements, banners, signage, presentations, social media graphics, email graphics, web graphics, and other marketing materials.Â
- Develop creative concepts that communicate College priorities to students, families, alumni, donors, partners, and the community. Apply principles of typography, layout, color, photography, visual hierarchy, and composition.
- Manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain quality and accuracy.
Brand Management:Â - Ensure consistency with Livingstone College's approved visual identity by adhering to logos, colors, typography, imagery, and design standards.Â
- Maintain approved templates, logos, graphic assets, and brand resources.Â
- Advise college departments and stakeholders on correct branding and visual communication practices.
Print, Photography, and Production:Â - Prepare production-ready files for print and digital use. Coordinate with vendors, get quotes, review proofs, and communicate specifications.
- Capture and edit visual content for college marketing, organize and maintain digital assets.
Collaboration and Institutional Support:Â - Collaborate with campus departments, faculty, staff, students, administrators, and external vendors to meet communication and marketing objectives. Provide creative support for institutional initiatives, academic programs, recruitment, alumni engagement, fundraising, athletics, and College events.Â
- Provide occasional creative or event support outside normal hours as needed.Â
Website and Digital Support:Â - Assist with updating and maintaining college website content, create and optimize graphics for web and digital platforms, support content updates
Perform other related duties supporting the Office of Strategic Engagement, Integrated Marketing & Communications.
| Education/ Experience  What you will need to be successful! | Required Qualifications- At least eight years of experience in graphic design, visual communications, marketing, advertising, or related creative fields; equivalent education, training, and experience will be considered.Â
- Must have experience designing print and digital platforms. Preference for experience with photography, print production, and vendor coordination.
- A strong portfolio or reel demonstrating storytelling ability, technical proficiency, and professional-quality video production is required.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in higher education, marketing, communications, advertising, or a creative services setting. Skilled in supporting branding and integrated marketing campaigns. Proficient in designing graphics for student recruitment, social media, fundraising, alumni engagement, or major events.Â
- Familiar with WordPress and other CMS, with knowledge in website analytics, digital accessibility, and digital asset management.Â
Work EnvironmentOffice-based with regular need to attend and cover campus events, occasionally outside standard business hours.
