Our services include Detoxification, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Partial Hospitalization, Treatment, Transitional Housing and Outpatient Mental Health.
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of Human Resources, including employee relations, recruitment, benefits, leave administration, workers' compensation, performance management, and personnel processes. The HR Manager provides guidance to employees and supervisors and works closely with the Director of Compliance & Quality Assurance, Payroll/HRIS, Compliance staff, and leadership.
The HR Manager independently handles routine HR matters and consults with the Director of Compliance & Quality Assurance regarding significant employee relations, legal, compliance, or organizational concerns.
HUMAN RESOURCES:
- Manage day-to-day Human Resources operations and serve as the primary HR resource for employees and supervisors.
- Provide HR guidance and training to supervisors regarding performance management, documentation, corrective action, employee relations, and applicable Human Resources policies.
- Receive and investigate employee complaints and workplace concerns. Escalate significant matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, compliance, patient safety, legal risk, or other serious concerns. Coordinate corrective actions, performance improvement plans, and employee separations. Consult with the Director of Compliance & Quality Assurance regarding significant disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Manage recruitment and employment processes, including job postings, applicant screening, interviews, employment offers, background and employment eligibility requirements, orientation/onboarding, and employee offboarding.
- Coordinate and monitor employee health and employment requirements, including required TB screening/testing, influenza vaccination documentation or applicable declinations, and other required health screenings or documentation. Ensure requirements are completed within established timeframes and maintain appropriate records.
- Administer the employee-facing aspects of employee benefits and serve as the primary HR contact for benefit questions, enrollment, eligibility, and employee communication, coordinating with the Senior Payroll/HRIS Accountant regarding HRIS configuration, payroll deductions, file feeds, and payroll-related benefit processing.
- Administer employee leave, including FMLA and other applicable leave requirements, and coordinate ADA accommodation requests.
- Manage workers' compensation claims, unemployment matters, and return-to-work processes.
- Coordinate performance evaluations and assist supervisors with performance management and employee development.
- Maintain appropriate personnel records and ensure confidential HR, medical, leave, and investigation information is properly protected.
- Maintain and coordinate job descriptions, personnel actions, employee status changes, and other HR documentation.
- Assist with employee engagement, retention, recognition, and workplace culture initiatives.
- Monitor HR activities and workforce trends, including recruitment, vacancies, turnover, and retention, and report significant concerns to leadership.
- Maintain, communicate, and consistently administer Human Resources policies and the employee handbook in coordination with the Director of Compliance & Quality Assurance. Significant policy changes are subject to the organization's established review and approval process.
COMPLIANCE & CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the Director of Compliance & Quality Assurance and Compliance staff regarding HR policies, personnel compliance, required training, credentialing, audits, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with Compliance when employee matters involve patient rights, privacy, safety, ethics, regulatory requirements, or other compliance concerns.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable employment requirements and assist with maintaining HR policies and practices consistent with federal and state requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Payroll HRIS Accountant regarding employee status changes, compensation, benefits, leave, and other information needed for payroll and HRIS processing.
- Assist with job classification, wage surveys, compensation reviews, and other HR projects as requested. Compensation changes must be appropriately approved before being submitted for payroll processing.
- Participate in organizational committees, investigations, audits, meetings, and projects requiring Human Resources involvement.
- Consult with the Director of Compliance & Quality Assurance regarding significant HR matters, unusual situations, or matters that may create legal, regulatory, financial, or organizational risk.
Requirements
Must…
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Have knowledge or experience in Human Resources functions such as employee relations, recruitment, benefits, leave administration, performance management, and personnel practices.
Have working knowledge of employment requirements or the ability to research, understand, and appropriately apply them.
Demonstrate good judgment and know when consultation or escalation is appropriate.
Have very strong communication, organization, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee matters.
Preferred…
Two or more years of Human Resources experience.
SHRM-CP, PHR, or other recognized HR certification.
HR experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or another regulated environment.
