The Role: The Maintenance Technician works closely with the Senior Refrigeration Manager, seasonal location site supervisor(s) and site manager(s) on maintaining production and quality of equipment. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable performance of machinery, consisting of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, refrigeration, and electrical equipment. In this highly visible role, you will be in a high performing culture where customer service and a passion for driving continuous improvement are critical to achieving superior results across all Company locations. This position requires travel between "in-season" facilities.

 

Location(s): Salinas, CA; Yuma, AZ

 

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance based on work-order system.
  • Performance service on equipment including motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, coupling and motor alignment, roller chain/sprockets alignment, conveyor systems, and production machines.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions and complies with NEC standards on wiring and installations.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation by using precision measuring tools.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, forklifts and hand and/or power tools.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and alignment equipment.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
  • Optimizes maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting actions, communicating irregularities, and scheduling correction of abnormalities.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of an industrial maintenance apprenticeship program is a plus.
  • Certificate or diploma in a related field a plus.
  • Experience with Industrial maintenance required; Preventative and Corrective/breakdown experience required.
  • Capable of reading and understanding diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Welding skills are a plus.
  • Thorough working knowledge of industrial equipment, its usage, and safety procedures.
  • Self-motivated, responsible and Safety Oriented individual.
  • Learns and applies standard tools and techniques to solve problems.
  • Demonstrates a positive "can-do" attitude.
  • Takes responsibility for self-performance (Ability to manage time and responsibilities independently).
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results and meeting expectations.
  • Ability to travel and move to California & Arizona locations.

Must be familiar with the use of:

  • IR Temperature Probe
  • Megger
  • Multimeter
  • General Tools
  • DC & AC Amperage Clamp Meter

Technicians must be able to troubleshoot the following systems and processes while working the floor. Including but not limited to:

  • AC Drives
  • DC Drives
  • Servo Drives
  • PLC
  • HMI
  • Close loop control systems
  • AC, DC, and Servo Motors Machinist and Mechanic Skills
  • Drill
  • Grinder
  • Pneumatics
  • Hydraulics
  • Valves
  • Vacuum pumps
  • Lubrication systems

Must be proficient in reading and Interpreting Blueprints, Mechanical and Electrical Prints.
