General Position Summary: Performs custodial duties to fulfill custodial services contract requirements according to customer specifications. Performs all tasks in a safe manner and meets Garten quality standards. Must be open to learning. May work independently or in cooperation with a team. Come see us at 500 Hawthorne Ave SE Salem, OR 97301 Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: • Being the primary driver for the team(s) assigned to. • Performs custodial duties such as vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, removing trash, and other miscellaneous services safely and in compliance with all Garten policies and procedures. • Monitoring supply needs and stock levels. Places supply requests as needed to maintain adequate inventory. Assists with distribution of supplies. • Checks quality against task lists and/or other control documents to ensure all items are completed for the site each time. Secondary Functions: • Participates in and attends committees/teams as assigned. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Job Scope: • Performs duties independently with minimal supervision, operates from established and well-known procedures. Decisions are made within general company policy constraints but may occasionally require independent decision making. Supervisory Responsibilities: • This position is not supervisory in nature. Specific Job Skills Required: • Ability to provide own transportation to and from work, with valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of current vehicle insurance preferred. • Ability to be the primary driver for designated team(s). • Physical ability to operate custodial equipment, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, reach overhead, climb stairs and make repetitive motions of the arms/hands. • Physical ability to push/pull up to 20 pounds, to lift up to 200 pounds with assistance, and to carry up to 40 pounds regularly throughout a normal workday. • Ability to make decisions, use independent judgment and/or take independent action, and provide customer service. • Must be capable and willing to work an 8-hour day and up to 40 hours/week as required. • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English preferred. • Ability to actively participate in team development and team-oriented processes. Education and Experience Required: • A minimum of three (3) years of driving experience. Job Conditions: • This position requires the incumbent to work in an environment where there may be exposure to fumes, noise, poor lighting, poor ventilation, dirt, dust, chemicals, odors, building temperature fluctuations, and biohazards. Other working conditions may include: working alone; shift work; disagreeable contacts (i.e. aggressive/agitated individuals); and frequent interruptions. May be required to attend meetings outside of regular shift.
