Job DetailsJob Location: Childrens Receiving Home - Sacramento, CA 95821Salary Range: $20.00 - $20.00 Hourly Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento (CRH) is seeking a motivated Fund Development & Communications Intern to support the launch of Cedar Cottages, CRH's new Transitional Age Youth (TAY) housing and support program, and the accompanying One Brave Step: A Path Toward Independence campaign. This internship offers hands-on experience across nonprofit communications, fund development, donor stewardship, and event planning, with direct mentorship from the Fund Development Director and exposure to CRH's Chief Executive Officer and campus program teams.  Key Responsibilities Communications & Content •     Create content for the CRH website, social media channels, and e-newsletter. •     Edit and design collateral materials using Canva (flyers, social graphics, one-pagers). Fund Development Support •     Respond to donation inquiries from community groups and individuals, and process incoming donations. •     Assist the Fund Development Director with departmental mailings to donors. •     Liaise with campus program staff regarding their donation needs, and maintain an online wish list for donors. Events •     Assist the Fund Development Director and CEO with the planning and execution of two fundraising events. Administrative & Cross-Departmental •     Coordinate with Human Resources to recognize staff birthdays and service anniversaries. •     Support general Fund Development Office operations and campaign tracking as needed.  Schedule & Location •     20 hours per week over the 16-week term (September 8 – December 23, 2026). •     Flexible scheduling within the work week to accommodate class schedules; specific days/hours to be set collaboratively with the Fund Development Director. •     Hybrid role — some work may be completed virtually, with regular time on the CRH campus for events, mailings, and team meetings.  What You'll Gain •     The chance to make a direct, meaningful impact on the lives of young people served by CRH, and to be part of the team bringing Cedar Cottages to life. •     Direct experience supporting a $1,000,000 capital campaign from launch through a Grand Opening event. •     Portfolio-ready writing, design, and social media samples. •     Mentorship from CRH's Fund Development and Communications team, with exposure to executive leadership.Qualifications•     Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program (Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, Business, or related field). •     Strong written and verbal communication skills. •     Familiarity with Canva or similar design tools; social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) a plus. •     Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); willingness to learn CRM/donor database tools. •     Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. •     Discreet and trustworthy when handling donor information and financial contributions. •     Genuine interest in nonprofit work and CRH's mission to serve children and young adults. •     Age 18+
