Manufacturing Material Handler

Summary

Operate lift trucks to move materials throughout the department and plant, ensures timely delivery of raw materials to production, weighs and labels regrind materials, and returns them to storage. Provides machine coverage, completes forklift training, and supports production needs by covering material handlers and assisting with sorting and repacking parts as requited.

Job Duties

• • Perform grinding duties as needed
  • Required to operate a lift truck (PIV) in a safe and proper manner
  • Able to lift 45 pounds occasionally during assigned shift
  • Capable of bending, stooping, twisting, squat, reach and grasp required
  • Available to work off shifts and overtime as needed
  • Must be able to climb ladder and stairs, and climb on and off lift truck
  • Able to obtain and retain PIV certification and must pass written and operating tests

• Ability to operate a lift truck safely;
• Ability to follow work instructions, safety procedures, and production schedules
• Attention to detail for sorting, inspecting, and repacking parts
• Flexibility to cover machines and material handler duties on an as-needed basis effectively with production and warehouse teams
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment
