Rooms Controller

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Rooms Controller. In this role, you will act as the primary liaison between Front Desk and Housekeeping, ensuring accurate room status, efficient room turnover, and clear communication throughout the day. You will monitor room availability, housekeeping progress, and arrival queue for arriving guests to help ensure rooms are ready and available when needed.

As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You’ll ensure accurate room status, timely room turnover, and seamless communication between Front Desk and Housekeeping. By coordinating priorities and keeping teams aligned, you will help minimize guest wait times and ensures rooms are ready when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Front Desk and Housekeeping, ensuring clear and timely communication.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate room statuses, identifying discrepancies between Versa and actual room conditions.
  • Track Housekeeping progress and prioritize room turnover based on arrivals, availability, VIPs, groups, and special requests.
  • Identify and communicate room delays, maintenance issues, inventory concerns, and conditions that may impact arriving guests.
  • Ensure cleaned and inspected rooms are released promptly to maximize room availability.
  • Monitor room moves, early arrivals, late check-outs, extensions, and other activities affecting room inventory.
  • Provide regular updates to Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Rooms Division leadership to support efficient daily operations.
  • Assist other Rooms Division departments as needed while maintaining a professional, proactive, and team-oriented approach.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous hotel or Rooms Division experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify room-status discrepancies.
  • Ability to work effectively with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and other departments.
  • Knowledge of Versa, Hotsos, Excel, Outlook Email or similar hotel systems preferred.
  • Preferred bilingual in both Spanish and English.
  • Must be able to work long hours including weekends and holidays.

A Sampling of Our Benefits

Our team enjoys a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Career growth opportunities with promotion from within
  • 401(k) matching, paid time off, and holiday compensation
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage for full-time associates
  • Employee appreciation events, discounts, and perks at all resorts
