Job DetailsJob Location: Catawba Mill - Catawba, SC 29704Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High School Diploma or EquivalentTravel Percentage: NoneJob Category: ManufacturingSUMMARY:  The Utility Worker will work as part of a team to perform a variety of tasks required for safe and efficient operation of their assigned process area. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Required to efficiently and safely perform clean- up and operational tasks for the assigned production process. Required to operate manual valves and inspect a range of processes. Required to perform housekeeping tasks for the assigned process area.  Required to be an active participant of all safety efforts, including adherence to policies and procedures. Will work as a group and independently to accomplish an assortment of tasks. After qualification, will occasionally be promoted to the next highest departmental position in which the employee is assigned.   Will serve as a task runner for various responsibilities SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None. QualificationsSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of a High School diploma required, with a degree in manufacturing technology preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing with stable work history. Ability to operate industrial machinery (such as fork trucks and control panels) and testing/measuring instruments. Ability to pass a drug screen and background check. Ability to work a rotating shift schedule with overtime work when needed. Comfortable working in a Union environment. Must have functional knowledge of basic computer systems Ability to perform work at various heights, temperatures and weather conditions. Must show proficiency in mathematics, locating information, observation, and reading for information which will be assessed and measured by the Work-Keys Profile. Must be able to lift reasonably heavyweights of paper, equipment, etc. Possesses the ability and confidence to perform tasks with minimal supervision. WORK ENVIRONMENT  The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times. Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles; vibrations.
