Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: SPR Packaging Rockwall - Rockwall, TX 75087Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeJob Shift: DayJob Category: FinanceThe Cost Accountant is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the Company’s cost and inventory accounting records, including standard costing, job costing, profitability analysis, manufacturing variances, and related reporting. The position also supports general accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial analysis. Duties Analyze product, customer, and operational profitability, including material, labor, overhead, pricing, and other significant cost or margin variances. Maintain and analyze standard costs, job costs, manufacturing variances, and other cost-accounting records. Provide timely management reporting and analysis focused on cost accuracy, profitability, operating performance, and opportunities for cost reduction or improved efficiency. Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, schedules, accruals, and analytical reviews in support of the monthly financial close. Participate in pricing analysis with the Sales team. Participate in production reconciliation procedures, including research and correct costing, inventory, and production-recording discrepancies. Support inventory accounting, including cycle counts, inventory valuation, transaction review, discrepancy resolution, and book-to-physical reconciliations. Participate in budgeting and forecasting, including analysis of actual results versus budget and forecast. Support the annual financial audit and other accounting or reporting requirements as needed. Work with Operations, Production, Purchasing, and other departments to improve transaction accuracy, understand cost drivers, and strengthen accounting processes and internal controls.  Requirements/Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CMA or CPA a plus. Minimum 2 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment required. Cost accounting, inventory accounting, and ERP-system experience required. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, pivot tables, and lookup functions. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work across accounting and operational functions.
