Join a team committed to the mission and values of Mercy Medical Center. As an Operating Engineer, you will help ensure the safe, efficient performance of our building systems, including steam, chilled water, heating, and refrigeration equipment.
Job Details
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and repair boilers, chillers, pumps, compressors, and related HVAC systems.
- Troubleshoot and replace mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components; perform routine filter, belt, and parts changes.
- Fabricate, install, and service industrial/commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Conduct facility rounds, monitor system performance, and adjust controls through the Building Automation System.
- Perform chemical testing and safety checks on boiler and chilled water systems.
- Prepare equipment for inspections and maintain machine rooms in a clean, organized condition.
- Assist with snow removal, support emergency operations, and work overtime as needed.
- Provide direction to assigned staff and support general maintenance tasks during off-hours.
Job Requirements:
- Strong mechanical, mathematical, and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical blueprints and control schematics.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Trade school graduate with specialty training preferred.
- NYC Refrigeration Operator Certification and/or N.I.U.L.P.E. certification required.
- One year of vocational training in refrigeration systems.

Salary Range
Starting from USD $42.26/Hr.
