The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Represents the assigned research program to ensure program goals and objectives are implemented in a timely manner and within budget. Performs timely follow-up of program deliverables and outcomes, ensuring compliance of all program requirements, anticipating potential issues and proactively identifying solutions. Provides support to prospective project design, feasibility, project management, and outcomes measurement. Participates in designing, organizing, and monitoring projects, including budgets/financial management. Contributes to the analysis of internal and external opportunities related to the research program operating goals. Independently manages some or all of the implementation plans of assigned projects and outreach initiatives, tracking and reporting program milestones on a regular basis. Provides oversight and coordination for all program activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supports the development, coordination, and administration of research objectives and research activities of a department. Monitors and maximizes adherence to protocol standards, regulatory guidelines, and approved operational procedures. Works closely with study team members and other staff and faculty to ensure adherence to study protocol. Anticipates potential issues and proactively identifies solutions. Ensures program remains on a pathway of continuous improvement.
  • Manages study-related administrative tasks and facilitates across-the-board flow of information, orchestrating study activities and personnel. Ensures tasks are appropriately delegated to team members. May assist with human resource and personnel tasks within the team, such as hiring and onboarding of staff, training, reviewing performance, and timekeeping.
  • Investigates, identifies and pursues funding opportunities for the department and assembles and coordinates workgroups of faculty and staff responsible for applying for grant or other funding opportunities. Coordinates aspects of grant development within these workgroups and assists in initiating, formulating and organizing written proposals for research grants and contracts, including new proposals, competitive renewals and continuation applications.
  • Plans and implements strategies to monitor, document, report, and follow-up on enrolled cases to maintain study continuity. Performs quality control checks for data accuracy and accurately enters research data into data collection forms and/or study databases.
  • Develops, prepares, and delivers analytical reports regarding progress of research to leadership and other members of the department. Responsible for documentation preparation, internal record keeping, tracking of supplies, scheduling equipment maintenance, and ordering supplies.
  • Serves as a point of contact for external agencies, including sponsors, regulatory agencies, auditors, and vendors. Serves as a representative and guide to those visiting the site.
  • Represents the departmental research efforts within the University, including exploration of potential collaborations with other internal departments and teams. Keeps abreast of current practices and innovations in the field. May act as a representative of the University while attending industry related workshops, meetings, or conferences.
