REPORTS TO:  Marketing Manager

LOCATION: Corporate Office

COMPENSATION: The starting salary for this position is expected to be $62,500 annually.  The actual salary will be determined based on experience and other job related factors, consistent with applicable law.

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week

SCHEDULE: : Monday 8:30am – 5:00pm / Tuesday 8:30am – 5:00pm / Wednesday 8:30am – 5:00pm / Thursday 8:30am – 5:00pm / Friday 8:30 – 5:00pm

 

Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the Marketing Specialist is to provide hands-on support to the marketing team in developing and executing marketing initiatives that enhance brand visibility and support membership initiatives. This includes day-to-day operational tasks, responding to internal marketing requests, assisting and participating in marketing events. The Marketing Specialist will also manage the social media strategy for The Summit Retirement & Investment Services, including content creation and execution and fulfillment of requests for printed marketing materials. 

A key focus of the Marketing Specialist is providing reliable, proactive support to the marketing team and other internal departments. They will be responsible for coordinating and creating assets for internal purposes using graphic design skills and supporting the broader creative team with the preparation, organization, and delivery of marketing materials. This includes helping fulfill marketing requests, preparing materials and promotional items for community events, organizing collateral and tchotchkes, and assisting team members with projects and deadlines. They will be responsible for utilizing our project management system to create and manage projects. 

We’re looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively within all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate is motivated, self-starting, outgoing, organized, and willing to take initiative without waiting to be asked. They should be comfortable interacting with a variety of internal teams, vendors, and community partners and be willing to pitch in wherever support is needed. Strong organizational and follow-through skills are especially important in this role.

They must perform all responsibilities in a manner that serves The Summit’s Mission and upholds the credit union’s values.

 

Essential Responsibilities - Must be capable of performing the following essential responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodations, as outlined below.

  • Provide day-to-day support to the marketing team and respond to internal marketing requests in a timely, organized, and professional manner
  • Develop and execute a strategic social media plan to enhance brand awareness and support marketing initiatives for The Summit Retirement & Investment Services
    • Manage content creation, compliance approval, and platform execution across Facebook and LinkedIn
    • Analyze performance, identify opportunities, and provide recommendations to optimize campaigns
    • Monitor and engage with social media activity, handling inquiries and escalations as needed
    • Stay up to date on industry trends and emerging tools to refine strategy
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other departments on marketing requests
    • Help gather information, prepare materials, track requests, and communicate status and next steps
  • Create assets for internal communications including company newsletters 
  • Coordinate, write and submit check requests for sponsorships and events
  • Cut and prepare assets for our branches and assist with delivery of marketing materials to the branch network using the internal courier system
  • Coordinate the inventory, ordering, organization, and distribution of marketing materials, collateral, promotional items, and tchotchkes for internal requests, branch needs, sponsorships, and events.
  • Partner with branches and internal stakeholders to assess event requirements and coordinate materials including signage, giveaways, collateral, promotional items, and other event-related assets.
  • Support event logistics by preparing, packing, organizing, distributing, and returning materials for community events, festivals, grand openings, annual meetings, branch events, and sponsorships.
  • Represent the marketing team at events such as festivals, grand openings, annual meetings, branch events, etc. as required and interact professionally with employees, members, community partners, and vendors.
  • Assist with event setup, preparation, staffing, and breakdown as needed
  • Work with the Marketing Communication Specialist and Public Relations & Community Engagement Specialist to write copy and design assets for credit union social media 
  • Work with the Marketing Creative Lead and Marketing Communication Specialist to create engaging supporting graphics for campaigns and marketing initiatives 
    • Provide hands-on support to the creative team by preparing, organizing, resizing, formatting, and coordinating creative assets as needed
  • Provide administrative and project support for a variety of marketing initiatives 
    • Proactively identify opportunities to assist team members, anticipate upcoming needs, and follow through on assigned tasks and deadlines
    • Assist with keeping projects, materials, files, and requests organized and moving forward

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Assist marketing team members with other ad-hoc marketing related activities and projects including assisting with last-minute project needs
  • Proofread marketing material to ensure that materials are accurate and meet regulatory and compliance guidelines
  • Maintain an understanding of credit union products, services, and supporting business processes
  • Serve as a backup to monitor credit union social media accounts, including posting content and engaging with followers as needed
  • Serve on cross-functional teams as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

Education & Experience - Applicants must possess the following qualifications or an equivalent combination of education and experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or related field preferred
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in marketing
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products required (Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) 
  • Adobe Creative Suite knowledge including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Previous experience with member (customer) databases and CRM systems such as Mail Chimp email software is a plus

Training and Compliance Requirements

  • Subject to the compliance requirements of all related federal regulations, including but not limited to; the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti Money Laundering (AML), Information Security and Privacy policies and procedures. Employees complete annual BSA, AML, Information Security, Privacy and other job-related training requirements as established by the Summit and within deadlines.
