Night 2 Production Supervisor - 7:00PM - 7:00AM, 3-on, 3-off

GENERAL FUNCTION

  • This position is responsible for supervising a trained work team on one of the night shifts to produce fiber cement siding in accordance with established standard operating procedures and management objectives while ensuring a safe working environment.  
  • This position is a non-exempt role and eligible for shift premium and overtime.  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Directs, coordinates and evaluates the activities of the plant on a night shift (3-on, 3-off; 7:00PM to 7:00AM)
  • Keeps all employees on the shift informed of job duties, breaks, and rotation
  • Responsible for employee productivity and output
  • Monitors safety, quality, housekeeping and quantities produced per-shift  
  • Ensures that all new employees are properly trained
  • Responsible for observing all plant standard operating procedures and safety policies
  • Participates in training programs to enhance environmental and safety performance
  • Performs assigned tasks as specified in the environmental procedures and work instructions
  • Understands the significant environmental impacts of my job activities and the consequences of departing from specified work instructions

PROBLEM-SOLVING: 

  • Must be able to organize, prioritize, and use discretion and good judgment in decision making and interpretation of information
  • Must be able to effectively diagnose and solve problems

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required
  •  Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required (minimum of high school diploma or GED)
  • 3-5 years progressively responsible positions in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be proficient in using computer
  • Must know how to work well on a team
  • Internal contacts include all levels of employees and management
  • External contacts may include customers/distributors
  • Both internal and external contacts require the ability to establish rapport and maintain professional relationships
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership management skills
  • Must have initiative and exhibit good judgment
  • Must participate in safety committees and activities
  • Must work safely wearing all required PPE
  • Possible occasional travel in the field
