Hispanic Services Specialists serve as the Credit Union's primary contact for our Hispanic membership, in person and on the phone, and are responsible for creating a welcoming environment and an exceptional impression by offering solutions that help them see banking differently!
This position is 100% in office, within our Roanoke office area.
Key job functions include, but are not limited to:
- Providing 5-Star member service experiences using effective bilingual (Spanish/English) oral and written communication skills combined with strong influencing abilities
- Growing the Credit Union through the addition of new members and the expansion of existing member relationships using probing and interviewing skills
- Professionally responding to member inquiries by telephone and/or in person
- Accurately performing transactional and operational responsibilities through Eagle Vision
- Protecting the credit union against risk of loss by collecting delinquent, negative, and fraudulent accounts in a professional manner
- Becoming proficient in credit union regulations, policies, and procedures

Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- Professional verbal and written experience translating between Spanish & English
- Minimum of 1 year experience fostering customer engagement
- Past experience in roles requiring attention to detail and math skills
- Engaging personality with strong communication skills with the ability to influence others
- Demonstrated ability to communicate information clearly and professionally over the phone and through digital channels
- Exposure to a sales and service environment; employment experience in sales and service environment preferred
- Ability to be registered in the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS)
- Functional experience with Google Applications: Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar
