ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Maintenance Technician position requires a skilled maintenance technician to inspect, troubleshoot and repair a variety of conveyor systems, Packaging Equipment, and -Laser Guided Vehicles, also known as AVG-Automated Guided Vehicles. An in-depth knowledge of electrical systems, troubleshooting and repairs is required. Will follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed. In addition, the candidate will observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

  • Regular inspection, troubleshooting and repairs of electrical and mechanical production equipment throughout the facility
  • Detecting malfunctions and defects in electrical and mechanical systems on all automation equipment
  • Ensuring the compliance of all corporate policies and the Occupational Safety and health administration rules (OSHA) while conducting work functions
  • Maintaining a record of service cycles and other maintenance activities conducted
  • Efficiently managing time and completing all tasks assigned by the supervisory authority
  • Reporting damages, defects and other issues pertaining to electrical and mechanical units to the supervising manager
  • Documenting spare and replacement parts required and completing all necessary documentation for the same
  • Appropriately using and handling all electrical repair and testing tools and equipment
  • Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed
  • Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Schedule:  1st shift: Sunday-Wednesday  (10 hours) or: Wednesday-Saturday  (10 hours)

 

Compensation:             $33.00 - $37.00 per hour (plus any applicable shift differential)

 

Status:                          Non-Exempt 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in-depth electrical and mechanical experience
  • Proficient in working with voltages from 24 volts to 480 volts, (Single, and three phase)
  • AVG (Automated Guided Vehicle) or LVG (Laser Guided Vehicle) experience
  • Knowledge of working with HMI’s
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficient in Preventative Maintenance tasks and services
  • Automation experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines
  • Sound understanding of using all electrical testing equipment
  • Ability to use efficiently various power and hand tools
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Should follow oral or written instructions
  • Team mindset
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships
  • High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, extend, reach, and twist for long periods of time
