Who You Are: (Job Summary)   

The Director, Development Schedule Management leads a team within QTS Property Development responsible for active schedule risk management across the entire QTS Development portfolio. Serving as the program management counterpart to QTS's regional Development execution organizations, this leader will operationalize and scale QTS’ centralized schedule management function, which includes production tracking, schedule analytics, and active intervention in projects with schedule challenges. 

 
What You Will Do: (Job Responsibilities)   

  • Own portfolio-wide deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement of QTS development scheduling, which includes, but is not limited to, production tracking, schedule risk management, and project reporting approach across all QTS builds – distinct from day-to-day project execution.   

  • Define and enforce KPIs used across the Development organization, ensuring one source of truth for construction progress from activity level up to the executive portfolio view.  

  • Build and lead a team of schedule specialists and dedicated analysts supporting the project execution teams.   

  • Partner with the Regional Development SVPs to standardize how production data is collected, validated, and escalated – including active intervention on projects with schedule risk.   

  • Own the schedule analytics and production tracking dashboards that supports Development leadership’s decision-making, including but not limited to: Tableau dashboards, weekly/bi-weekly performance boards, and integration within QTS's data ecosystems.   

  • Establish clear ownership, cadence, and escalation paths for schedule risk management across the Development organization.  

  • Coordinate with Procurement, Quality, Design & Engineering, and Finance to ensure schedule and production tracking requirements are consistently reflected in RFPs, consistent with evolving design standards, and integrated into downstream reporting.   

What You Will Need to Be Successful:  (Required Qualifications, Education, Experience, Certifications)   

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.  

  • Eight or more years of experience in scheduling and project controls within a construction environment, including direct ownership of production tracking, WBS/KPI standards, or PMO functions on large capital projects.  

  • Two or more years of direct supervisory experience.  

  • Demonstrated experience building and operating enterprise schedule management and reporting programs — including standardized dashboards, KPI hierarchies, cadenced performance-review routines, and active risk management.  

  • Proven leadership of cross-functional teams operating across multiple geographies or projects, with the ability to influence senior execution leaders who do not report to you.  

  • Track record of driving standardization and continuous improvement in a large, decentralized delivery organization.  

 

Nice to Have: (Preferred Qualifications, Education, Experience, Certifications)   

  • Twelve or more years of scheduling, process, and controls experience within construction.  

  • MBA or other related advanced degree.  

  • Data center or mission-critical construction experience preferred.   

  • Hands-on familiarity with construction reporting/analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Autodesk Construction Cloud).   

  • Excellent interpersonal and executive communication skills, with the ability to influence, align, and hold accountable senior leaders across a matrixed organization.  

  • Proactive team player who thrives building something new — comfortable operating in ambiguity during an incubation period and evolving structure as the team matures.

The estimated pay range for this role, if based in Virginia, is:

$144,727.50 - 218,056.10
