Description
JES Tech is seeking an Exercise Physiologist in Richland, Washington. This position is responsible for the development and administration of fitness assessments, work capacity evaluations, exercise/fitness prescription, work conditioning, therapeutic and preventive exercise programs, ergonomic services, and the development and presentation of education/training programs. The position may provide health coaching and health promotion as appropriate.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development and delivery of comprehensive health-related, fitness and therapeutic exercise services appropriate to improve and/or maintain employee’s capacity for safely meeting the physical demands of their jobs.
- Develops and conducts comprehensive health risk management and musculoskeletal education, training and interventions to site employees and managers/supervisors.
- Administers work capacity evaluations and testing addressing musculoskeletal health functions, work physical/functional capacity and fitness.
- Assists in conducting field-based work site analysis and reporting of musculoskeletal ergonomic hazards to contractor management, case management and/or HPMC OMS medical providers.
- Effectively communicates programs, services, and information to a diverse audience.
- Provides consultation to the site in areas of worker physical capacity, fitness, ergonomic or performance issues.
- Communicates with appropriate clinic medical providers and case management, regarding work conditioning assessments, intervention plans, and progress/status to assure continuity of care.
- Contributes to the selection of program resources and materials, program outcome measurement, program quality improvement and assuring program compliance with accreditation standards and performance measures.
- Contributes to teamwork and participates in meetings and committees as required.
- Interfaces with the community such as public health, local hospitals, and community groups and community health programs.
- Performs routine administrative tasks and duties as required.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, clients, and the public.
- Adheres to and fosters acceptable health and safety practices and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education/Experience
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience involving exercise prescription, functional/fitness assessment, and injury prevention.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Public Health, Education/Teaching, or a related field.
- ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP).
- Experience in occupational health, industrial ergonomics, work conditioning, or a related setting.
- Current Washington State Athletic Trainer license, if applicable to the candidate's professional discipline.
Required Skills & Certifications
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
- Ability to conduct fitness, musculoskeletal, posture/movement, functional, and work-capacity assessments to evaluate an employee's ability to safely perform the physical demands of their job.
- Knowledge of graded exercise testing guidelines and ability to interpret static and dynamic 12-lead ECGs.
- Ability to develop appropriate exercise prescriptions for preventive, therapeutic, work-conditioning, and risk-reduction programs.
- Knowledge of instructional methods and adult learning principles, with the ability to develop and deliver effective training and educational programs to individuals and diverse groups.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures related to occupational health and employee health information, including HIPAA, GINA, and the Privacy Act of 1974.
- Ability to appropriately maintain confidential medical information and communicate effectively with employees, management, and clinical staff while protecting employee privacy.
- Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint, with the ability to learn additional systems and customized applications.
Salary Range: $80,000–$85,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. national and have the ability to successfully obtain and maintain required DOE site access authorization.
