Title of Position: Patient Relations Specialist

 

Position Summary:

 To provide a level of support to patients and their families. This includes assisting the various concerns.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Greet patients, visitors and family members warmly and politely.
  2. Listen and respond to patients’ needs and concerns.
  3. Provide information about the facility services and doctor’s availability. 
  4. Review or make changes to patient accounts. 
  5. Initiate the first appointment, obtain documentation and consents.
  6. Handle complaints. 
  7. Record details of patient’s contacts and actions taken. 
  8. Research answers or solutions as needed. 
  9. Follow-up with patients within a specified period of time to ensure satisfaction.
  10. Refer patients to supervisors, managers, or others who can help.
  11. Proficient in EMR system.
  12. Performs other assigned duties as directed by the Manager.


Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Knowledge of HIPPA medical privacy regulation and practices
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Previous medical office setting experience preferred
