About the Role:

The Lead Teacher plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience and development of students within the classroom. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning needs. The Lead Teacher fosters a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement, critical thinking, and social-emotional growth. Collaboration with fellow educators, parents, and administration is essential to support student success and continuous improvement of teaching practices. Ultimately, the Lead Teacher serves as a role model and leader within the educational community, driving academic excellence and nurturing a lifelong love of learning.

Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching early childhood education, preferably Pre-K
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development and instructional best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) coursework, CDA, or related education is a plus.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom-management skills.
  • Patient, dependable, positive, and compassionate.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Passion for helping young children learn, grow, and prepare for kindergarten.
  • Must meet all applicable childcare licensing and background-check requirements.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through formal and informal evaluations, providing timely feedback and support.
  • Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and student well-being.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance, behavior, and development.

Skills:

The Lead Teacher utilizes strong organizational and planning skills daily to create and follow the curriculum. Communication skills are essential for engaging with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a collaborative learning environment.  Adaptability and problem-solving skills help the Lead Teacher address classroom challenges and individual student needs effectively.
