The Maintenance Worker I perform entry-level maintenance and repair tasks, assisting in the upkeep of hospital facilities. This position focuses on general maintenance, basic carpentry, and repair work under supervision. The role contributes to a safe and well-maintained environment for staff, patients, and visitors. On-call duty is required on a rotating schedule to ensure availability for emergency maintenance requests outside of regular working hours.

Job Relationships:

Directly responsible to the Maintenance Manager
Indirectly responsible to the Director of Facilities.
Receives daily guidance and mentorship from Lead Maintenance Worker.
Works closely with fellow maintenance staff, hospital personnel, patients, and visitors.

Occupational Hazards:

Works in the general hospital setting. May be exposed to blood, body fluids, or tissues as well as patients in varying stages of infectious states. Electrical, chemical, mechanical, environmental, and Physical hazards exist in everyday operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

At least one year of experience in maintenance, repair, or related fields.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED.

Certification:

Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Forklift Operator Certification within the first six months of employment.

Preferred:

Experience:

Two years of experience in maintenance, carpentry, or a related trade.
Experience in a healthcare or hospital setting
Experience with basic electrical, plumbing, boiler, and HVAC systems

Education:

Completion of a vocational or technical training program in maintenance, carpentry, or a related field is desirable.

Certification:

This role requires proficiency in general maintenance, steam boiler operation, electrical systems, and carpentry. The Maintenance Worker II ensures that hospital facilities remain functional and safe, adhering to all safety and compliance standards. Education:

High School Diploma or GED.

Certification:

Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.

Job Summary:

The Senior Maintenance Worker plays a key role in ensuring the functionality, safety, and compliance of the hospital's infrastructure. HVAC EPA Certification (Type I and II or Universal).
Carpentry Certification (e.g., Journeyman Carpenter).

Preferred:

7+ years of experience in maintenance, with a strong focus on healthcare or hospital environments.
Proven track record in leading large-scale maintenance projects.

Education:
