The Shipping-Receiving Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for overseeing all shipping and receiving activities, coordinating logistics, and managing a team to maintain smooth operations. The lead ensures compliance with safety regulations and company policies while optimizing workflow to meet production schedules. They act as a liaison between warehouse staff, production teams, and external carriers to facilitate timely deliveries and shipments. Ultimately, this role is essential for maintaining inventory accuracy, reducing delays, and supporting overall supply chain effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in shipping and receiving within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Proven experience in supervising or leading a team.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, including inventory control and logistics.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience implementing process improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure timely and accurate processing of materials.
  • Manage and train warehouse staff, providing guidance and support to maintain high performance and safety standards.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, quality, and compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with production, inventory control, and logistics teams to optimize workflow and resolve any shipping or receiving issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory levels, and discrepancies using warehouse management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Schedule and communicate with carriers and vendors to coordinate pickups and deliveries efficiently.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
