Position: Janitor

Reports to: Director of Facilities

Purpose of Position:    Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming facility, 

Shift:  1st shift Tuesday-Saturday

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Advocates for the mission of the organization and promotes and upholds the agency's values.
• Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc.)
• Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities.
• Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects.
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs.
• Make adjustments and minor repairs.
• Stock and maintain supply rooms.
• Cooperate with the rest of the staff.
• Follow all health and safety regulations.

Requirements

Experience and Education:

• High school degree
• 1-2 years Janitorial experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proven working experience as a janitor.
• Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
• Integrity and ability to work independently.

• Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, etc.
• Ability to work in an environment in which the job is performed, especially any unique conditions outside a normal office environment, such as working in hot, cold, dusty, etc. conditions.
