Position Summary

Southern Highlands Community Mental Health Center is seeking a dependable and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our INSPIRES program, a short-term treatment center serving male consumers.

The DSP provides protective oversight and assists consumers with daily living and life-skills development. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive treatment environment while addressing each consumer’s physical, social, health, emotional, economic, and training needs.

Education and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Must be physically capable of assisting consumers.
  • Must be able to use approved verbal and physical intervention techniques when necessary to safely manage aggressive behaviors.
  • Must be dependable, compassionate, and able to work effectively with individuals receiving behavioral health services.
  • A personal communication device that allows regular contact with the supervisor is preferred.
