Role purpose (position scope):
The Senior Buyer is responsible for procurement strategy, vendor relationship management, and order execution for an assigned commodity segment. This role focuses on strategic supplier development, cost reduction initiatives, and ensuring on-time delivery and quality compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for procurement of materials, services, and supplies in support of MRP requirements. Processing RMAs for discrepant material.Â
- Participates in selection, qualification, negotiation using supplier management skills under guidance of Supervisor.
- Interface with internal departments to ensure timely processing of requirements/requests in support of the business needs.
- Performs purchasing functions including analyzing quotations received and selecting or recommending suppliers and interviews with prospective vendors.
- Interact with vendors and inter-department customers throughout the purchasing and selling process; resolve bid irregularities, perform price and cost analysis, negotiate prices and terms.
- Obtain competitive sealed proposals, qualifications-based proposals, bids and quotations, ensuring all required terms and conditions, contractual provisions and clauses required are included in procurement.
- Resolve purchase order and invoice differences with suppliers, as to wrong deliveries, payments, invoices, credits, payment terms, and duplicate billings. Prepare contract modifications.
- Administer long-term contracts, which may or may not involve subcontracts with special provisions that may be changed and renegotiated throughout the duration of the contract.Â
- Special purchasing related projects as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager or Purchasing Supervisor.
- Supporting 100% Customer On Time To Promise (OTTP) through managing assigned supplier performance to 100% On-time Delivery (OTD) and quality.
- Comply and uphold Canyon AeroConnect SHE policies and standards.
- Comply with the Canyon AeroConnect Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.

- Working knowledge of ERP systems – MRP / Purchasing focus
- Proficiency with personal computers and software packages, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat Professional

- MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - Bachelor’s Degree (or the equivalent combination of education and experience) and 6 years of related experience (aerospace and/or defense preferred); APICS (American Production & Inventory Control Certification – CPIM) preferred
