Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will work to take care and assist the team with a 40-bed Assisted Living Facility. Compassion and care is a number one priority. Open shift hours include- 6AM-2PM and 2PM-10PM. Our team is looking for someone who is patient, empathetic, and has the ability to manage several tasks that need to be completed daily.

Duties

  • Collect, process, and analyze biological specimens including blood, tissue, and other bodily fluids using aseptic techniques and proper specimen handling protocols.
  • Ensure that the patients' basic hygiene needs are met by bathing, shaving and dressing them.
  • Help patients use the bathroom.
  • Change the bedsheets for patients.
  • Monitor patients' recovery or general well-being and report findings to the registered nurse.
  • Prepare patients for examinations or procedures.
  • Support laboratory management activities including inventory control, calibration of instruments, and adherence to safety standards
  • Maintain detailed records of laboratory procedures, test results, quality control measures, and equipment maintenance to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • 6 hr Med-Tech certification for the state of FL.
  • Compassion for patients
  • Worked with the geriatric community in the past is preferred
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals and documenting findings clearly.
