Senior Project Controls Specialist

KEITH is looking for a Senior Project Controls Specialist to join our team in Pompano Beach, FL.  We are looking for positive individuals to fit our energetic culture.  We are a well-established multidisciplinary company that offers civil engineering, land surveying, subsurface utility engineering, planning, landscape architecture, and construction management services.  The firm was founded on the principle of achieving success by combining the latest technology with client oriented business practices, and a strong group of talented professionals.

What you'll do:
The Senior Project Controls Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects by assisting the executive leadership and project management team in managing project scheduling, accounting, and documentation. 

Project Scheduling:

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining detailed project schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Coordinate with PMs to monitor project progress and update schedules to reflect changes.
  • Coordinate with project managers and team members to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
  • Monitor project performance against budgets, schedules and financial targets.
  • Analyze schedule and financial alignment, identify risks, and recommend corrective action. 

Project Accounting:

  • Responsible for project billing, accounts receivable and consultant billing. 
  • Validate complex contract components, including fee structures, retainage, revenue recognition, and billing requirements.
  • Lead financial forecasting, including labor, revenue, margin, cost to complete, and scenario building.
  • Oversee project billing, consultant invoicing, and subconsultant compliance. 
  • Assist in the development of project proposals with project team
  • Assist in tracking project budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Prepare and analyze cost reports, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Project Documentation:

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, billing records, and financial correspondence.
  • Review contracts and amendments to ensure financial and billing requirements are properly reflected.
  • Ensure all project documents are organized and accessible.
  • Support the preparation of project closeout documentation, including final billing, reconciliation, and document archiving.

What you'll need:

This position requires a strong background in finance, accounting, or administration, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and forward-learning environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5 + years of experience in project controls, scheduling, accounting, documentation or a related role within Engineering, Architecture, or Construction industry.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and financial management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and work collaboratively in a team environment.
