The Housekeeper works within the facilities policies and procedures and in accordance with standards of State and Federal regulations.  QualificationsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION & RELATED ABILITIES Graduation from High School or GED. EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 1-year experience in housekeeping functions, preferably in a health care setting. Must have two years of sobriety prior to hire, if recovering from a substance use disorder and participate in a self-help program. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: CPR KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE:  General knowledge of addictions and mental health complications. General knowledge of the 12-Step Recovery Program. Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics, and team building. General knowledge of alcohol and other drugs that includes: Alcohol and addictive drugs and their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual impact on the individual. Alcohol and addictive drugs and their impact on the family. Ability to determine if a medical emergency exists and to take appropriate action, when necessary. Knowledge of the stages of alcohol and other drug withdrawals and ability to take appropriate action at each stage. Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal laws and/or regulations that regulate the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction, including:Confidentiality, Client Rights, Professional Code of Ethics, Discrimination Knowledge of airborne and blood borne pathogens (TB, HIV, AIDS, HB) and risk reduction methodologies and the use of universal precautions. Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which are related to work as a member of an addiction treatment team. Knowledge of emergency procedures used in case of alcohol and/or drug overdose. AGE SPECIFIC INDIVIDUALS SERVED/RESPONSIBILITY: Adult or adolescents SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION Damp wipe with a germicidal solution: chairs, tops of bedside cabinets, lamps, windowsills, etc. Clean all horizontal surfaces daily with a disinfectant to remove dust, dirt, and greasy film. Empty and clean wastebaskets and reline wastebaskets with plastic liners. Empty and disinfected garbage cans, reline with plastic liners. Clean tubs, shower stalls, tub room floors and fixtures daily. Clean and sanitize bathrooms. Clean sink of soap and other articles. Clean and hose down entrance mats when needed. Clean offices, treatment rooms, patient rooms, lounges, and waiting areas as assigned. Wash windows, sills, doors, and air vents in bathrooms on a regular basis. Keep cleaning equipment in good working order, replacing damaged equipment when necessary and       keep all equipment clean and tidy. Maintain housekeeping closets at all times. Transport soiled linen to the proper storage area. Disinfect all soiled linen containers and reline with plastic liners. Assist in the storing of clean liners. Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in the immediate work area. Report to work as assigned. Complete daily tasks assigned. Maintain acceptable overall attendance. Promote a favorable/positive work atmosphere. Attends educational training as necessary and as assigned. Seek out learning experiences and incorporate new knowledge into practice. Maintain flexibility and adaptability to changes in the work environment. Utilizes hand-washing techniques and universal precautions at all times. Conform to dress code as established by the Facilities Manager and appropriate to the workplace setting. Report incidents, accidents, and occurrences in accordance with policies and procedures. Maintain safety in the physical environment. Protect the privacy of all client information in accordance with GRNH, LLC’s privacy policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider. Failure to comply with the company’s policies and procedures on client privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. Expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding GRNH, LLC’s policies and procedures on client privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor. Perform other duties assigned.
